Trust

I think that it is safe to say that this is not always true, although it is likely true in general terms. It is often said that trust needs to be earned, but there has to be some give and take on both sides of the trust equation. For example, a leader who is prepared to sell you down the river if you do something he does not like is not trustworthy himself. But, if you prevaricate or fail to meet deadlines then neither are you. And lack of trust is often at the bottom of many of our personal problems, whether at work or home. Would you trust you? If not, change yourself; don’t expect others to initiate needed changes.
