This is another of those quotes that really ought to be regarded as self-evident. A leader is responsible for far more than just himself, and that is true regardless whether we are talking about a politician, a religious leader, the chairman of a company, or a parent. But to be worthy of that leadership role we have to be responsible, and make decisions based on consideration of the known facts. That does not mean that leaders should never take risks, but risky decisions still need to betaken in a responsible way.
