Integrity

There is a relationship between knowledge and integrity. Both are important. It is when the two get out of balance that we see problems and difficulties. For example, if you have integrity you will resist pressure to do the wrong thing. Your conscience will not let you go along with something that you know in your heart is wrong. And for public service, you need a good, balanced blend of the two. You cannot grow as an individual if you allow one or the other to influence you unduly. A person without integrity will not have real friends. Rather than friends they would be cronies. Lack of integrity promotes nepotism and corruption. And once a person starts down that road their knowledge and influence will increasingly be used for selfish and greedy purposes.
